Do you want to get involved? Pet Rescue of Maryland needs you!

As an all volunteer group, we are always looking for new members. No matter how much time you have to give or when you have to give it, we need your help! We are always looking for people to:

We are now looking for foster homes for some of our exceptional dogs. If you are looking for a way to truly make a difference in a dogs life, please consider becoming a foster. You would be responsible for the daily care of the dog, taking the dog to be vetted and giving the dog lots of love! You will also need to bring your dog to adoption events on Saturdays so they can find their forever home. Fosters are the reason we are able to help so many dogs get a second chance at a wonderful life. The satisfaction you get from knowing you are the reason that another animal will have a full tummy, a warm bed and a family who loves them is priceless. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please fill out an application or call 410.627.6563.

We are also seeking people who can foster in a crisis situation. Crisis fosters are fosters who can't foster all of the time, but are willing to foster in certain situations. We would call on a crisis foster to help us if we have an unexpected situation that is a matter of life or death. This could be a situation like hurricane Katrina, a police seizure of a large number of animals or if we are the last chance for a large number of very adoptable dogs and cats. We are often forced to play "Sophie's Choice" at shelters. When faced with twenty puppies and the ability to take 2, we realize we need to have a network in place to be able to do more. This is where the crisis foster would spring into action. You would have the same responsibility of a regular foster, but on a more temporary basis. If you would be willing to be a crisis foster, you can fill out an application on-line and we will contact you when the situation arises. Having to pick who gets a second chance and who doesn't is not a choice we want to make. While we know we can't help everyone, we always want to help whomever we can. Click here to download a dog foster application or cat foster application to start the process to become a crisis foster. You can fill it out and fax it back to 410.667.4292.

We need people to provide transport for our animals to vet appointments in the Baltimore county area. Responsibilites include: picking up and dropping off animals for medical appointments and groomers. You must be over 21 years old, have proof of insurance and a valid drivers license.
