This is a courtesy posting. Please call 410-627-6563 for information.

His name is Moose. Or Moosie Goose. Or Juicy Moosie the Silly Mongoosie. Whatever you decide to call him, call him adorable! His ears are just like velvet. He has a nice, shiny coat that is scrumptious to pet and what may be the world's most flexible neck.

Moose has many wonderful qualities to share with you. He is fully house and crate trained. He knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. He enjoys being your kitchen companion but does not counter surf or get into trash. He’s smart, sleeps through the night and lets you sleep in the morning. He’s super quick at learning routines. He's very polite about taking treats and is treat motivated, especially if they smell yummy.

Some of Moose’s favorite things are: running at top speed in the yard, the idea of playing fetch with a tennis ball just not the actual returning of the ball, and playing with toys all by himself. He will throw balls around for himself with a flick of his head.

He makes for a great work-from-home office buddy. He mostly naps during the workday, plays with various toys, and provides occasional wellness checks. He's an independent kind of dog and happy to do his own thing.

What kind of home is Moose looking for? He needs a home with adults only that is away from the hubbub of a busy city. He must have a home with a securely fenced yard that is big enough for him to run some, around 1/4 of an acre or more. His family needs to have time to give him some exercise daily, like a 20-minute walk or two! Oh, and a healthy supply of tennis balls!

Moose has a quirk of wanting to guard his family, both from visitors and other animals, and does not like to share with other dogs. His foster family is working with him on this, and we want to make sure his forever family has some experience with this type of behavior and how to handle it. Because of this behavior, ideally he would be the only pet. He could live with a cat who keeps to themselves and is dog-savvy. In his foster home, he chased the resident cat but backed off when smacked by the cat. Moose enjoys playing with other dogs but is selective of who is a worthy play partner. It’s possible with a supervised introduction he could live with a submissive dog who is great at reading other dogs.
